Description
The Cross Creek, Florida home of renowned American novelist, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. Her best known work, The Yearling, won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1939. It is about a boy who adopts an orphaned fawn and the problems it creates for his family in rural 1870s Florida. The book was later made into a movie by the same title. The home and property are now a Florida State Park.
