Description
Built in 1910, this is the original home of John and Emma Meritt which sat on 100 acres of farmland in Phoenix, Arizona. It is now located in the Pioneer Living History Museum in north Phoenix and is an example of the kind of comfortable life made possible in the desert once the Arizona Canal was completed (1885). The canal enabled the Meritts to produce irrigated crops of cotton, corn, wheat and alfalfa and also raise sheep and cattle. Best viewed large. Social media sharing always appreciated.
