Description
Known locally as the White Dove of the Desert, San Xavier del Bac is an old Spanish mission (est. 1692). It was built to serve the Tohono O'odham Native American people as it still does today. The old mission is located on the Tohono O'odham reservation near Tucson, Arizona. To see additional images of this historic structure, visit my Southwest Gallery.

Gorgeous capture Gordon! I've not seen this in person so you have inspired me to take a drive to Tucson.

Great capture of the White Dove, Gordon...a long time ago I was commissioned to paint this on BOTH sides of a custom Van. I was 26 years old and fearless so I gave it my best shot and the owner was thrilled and 100% happy....just the thought of doing that today stresses me out! Canvas painting in my studio is much more relaxing! FAV
